What is Realm?

Realm and Ringwood Town Square are owned and managed by Maroondah City Council.

Centrally located in the heart of Ringwood, adjoining the Town Square, Realm is a hub for community interaction. It is a safe, welcoming and inclusive place that provides a variety of learning and social experiences, and settings for everyone. It is a hub for community interaction.

Across three fully accessible levels, Realm features a Council Service Centre; library; BizHub; ArtSpace; and cafe. But, that's just the begining with so many uniques spaces and opportunities to explore.

Realm offers an exciting program of events and activities, with something for all ages, from storytimes for tiny tots and young children through to technology workshops for seniors – and everything in between. Visit our What's On section to find out more about what's coming up at Realm.

Construction of the state-of-the-art facility began in October 2013 as part of Queensland Investment Corporation’s $665 million Eastland redevelopment. The 3400sqm building was completed in October 2015, with Realm officially opening to the public on 29 October 2015.

Realm redefines the way in which Council engages with the community and delivers services through a unique customer service experience, and state-of-the-art technologies.

An innovative and creative program of arts, cultural and community activities set Realm apart from traditional community facilities, and attract people of all ages from diverse backgrounds.

Realm will be at the forefront of innovation, unlocking new ways of working, imagining and responding to the needs of our community and will be pivotal in positioning the eastern region of Melbourne as the innovation and knowledge capital of Australia.
